I got the Black & Decker Stud Sensor model number BDL1605 a few years ago for a Christmas present. It was purchased at Walmart. It is a handy little tool to have around the house. What it does is it finds the studs inside the walls of your house. If you are hanging a heavy picture or a heavy mirror or something and you don't want the nail to be pulled out of the drywall, you want to put the nail into the wall where there is a stud behind it. Without this tool it is very hard to determine where there is a stud behind the wall. It is very simple to use. It is battery powered. You just turn it on and slide it across the wall and it beeps loudly when you come across a stud. We have used it several times to hang things and we are very pleased with it.
