Black Forest Gummy Bears By Doraemon on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
Gummi bears are a popular rubbery textured confecionery which is gelatine based. Hans Riegel of Germany invented these sweet treats. in 1922, started the Haribo company. The company still exists today and still manufactures gummy bears.
Gummy bears are made from sugar, glucose syrup, starch, flavouring, food coloring, citric acid, and gelatin. Gummy bears are good tasting and fun to eat but have negligible nutritional values.
This particular offering from Costco includes a dozen bags of 5 ounces each. The gummy bears are made by Black Forest and contain real fruit juice. I appreciate this fact since many candy products contains too much sugar and too little fruit juice or at times only contain synthetic tasting flavorings.
The bags are individually packed so it is very convenient to bring these along or to give them to kids along with the rest of their packed lunches. The sticky nature of the treat however gets it stuck in teeth and may cause tooth decay so eat this in moderation.

I love gummie bears. The real fruit in these sounds great. Actually, it made my mouth water just thinking about it. I'll have to keep my eyes open for this brand.
