Blistex Moisturizing SPF15 Lip Balm
By moonbeam973 onI hadn't used Blistex in a long time, but I've always preferred it to Chapstick (which I always thought felt like trying to apply dried candle wax to my lips). I had a coupon for $0.25 off a tube of Blistex, and I needed some lip balm, so I went to WalMart in search of some. WalMart had two tubes of this for the price of one (at $1.84, and with my coupon - what a bargain)! I rated this a 3 for UVA blocking, because I honestly don't know. It doesn't claim to be broad spectrum, but since the lips are so sensitive, I figure any sun protection is better than none at all. The texture is nice; the product soothes and softens lips. Reading through the ingredients, I see no oils and no fragrance. Flavor is one of the ingredients, and it tastes good, whatever it is. Because it does not contain oils, it really isn't water or sweat proof, so it needs to be reapplied frequently. This lip balm does contain chemicals (aside from the ones in the sunscreen) and parabens, but it does have a few redeeming ingredients - glycerin, jojoba esters, and squalane.
