When I was little we always went to see the circus when it was in town. We would pile in the car and head down town to The War Memorial. Later on the building was baught out by Blue Cross /Blue Shield PPO. The company did not forget our war vetrens though. Some great remodeling was done. The Venu changed to The Blue Cross Arena. They have an inscription inlayed in the marble of the wall honoring our war vetrens, as well as the eternal flame that is burning bright in the foyer for all to see.

Along with being a memorial to our vetrens, it is a great place to go. Many famous acts are featured there. Bruce Springstien, Dave Matthews, American Idols, and that's just some of the famous acts that you can see preform. They also host many sporting events there as well. We most recently went to see the Rochester Knight hawks (lacrosse), Rochester Amerks (hockey), WWF raw, and Monster trucks.

There are plenty of seats and not a bad one in the place. It is a non-smoking facility and is kid friendly as well. In fact many kids' shows have come there as well. ( like Disney on ice, and the Wiggles).

School competitions, such as cheerleeding, basketball, step dancing, and hockey take place there too. Also it is home to graduations for many of our local highschools.

I can't wait until the next hockey game myself!
