Blue for U Sony DVD burner
By MickeyM onOkay DVD burners are kind of all old hat now. Store some data or more than likely dupe a dvd movie. Well sony ups the ante with blue ray disc. This new format of disc which is the new standard of Hi Def movies comes home for your pc in a new less expensive package. These players aren't super new but until now they were bank breaking expensive. A year ago this would have cost a 1000 dollars but now a year later Sony brings this add on internal burner home with the help of FRY's electronics for just under the 200 mark.
Blue Ray for those of you who don't know is the 10X denser storage media than tradtional DVD media holding up to 50GB of data. The result superior picture and sound for movies as well as mountains of data storage.
This player is rather basic in features but delivers the goods. It has HDMI output toan outside sourceas well.
So if the ultimate in picture quality or mounds of storage is for you, don't break the bank just break into this new sony internal drive and get to enjoying picture quality to cry over.

I don't know anything about these but to go from $1,000 a year ago to $200.00 now, that's crazy.
hmmm I have never used a dvd burner before because as of now i don't see a need for it...the one you have seems good tho but is that expensive? seems like it to me
Fry's sure does have some good sales when they have them!
Thanks for explaining Blue Ray. Sounds like a nice burner!
Wow! I had no idea that a Blue Ray DVD burner could be had for under $200! That is incredible! My son has been bugging me for one of these... Perhaps he will see one on his birthday or Christmas. Thanks!
Thank you for helping me to understand what Blu-Ray is that everybody thinks it's so great. Ten times more data storage? Oh, that IS significant.
