I LOVE word games and Boggle is a fun one. But be warned, it is addictive :0)
Boggle comes with loads of dice (16 I believe) that have one letter printed on each side. You shake the dice and put them into the grid holder then flip the 3 minute sand time over and go to "work." Each player tries to find as many words as they can in the letters shown on the dice...they can be diagonal, up, down, backwards, zig zag, in a u, any which way as long as the letters touch.
When the time is up each person counts up the points they have based the length and number of their words. Three and four letter words are 1 point. Five letter words are 2 points. Six letter words are 3 points. Seven letter words are worth 5 points and eight or more letter words are worth 11 points.
You can play until you are tired and the person with the highest points win, or you can set a number (like 50) and the person who reaches that number first wins.

I had forgotten all about this game until I found it and played it online last night. And you are so right - it's addictive!
This is also a great game to play with kids! It's a great way to build non-linear thinking skills.
We have "Boggle offs" over here-we can play this game for hours!! It's extremely fun & addicting!!!!!

Boggle has been around for a long time. I'm sure I remember playing it at least 25 years ago! I love word games!
We have the travel version of Boggle and It's lots of fun!
