Book Of The Dead

I have been reading the Kay Scarpetta series since I was in high school. While browsing through the shelves of books in my library, I decided to read Book Of The Dead by Patricia Cornwell again, because I had only read this one once.

Immediately I was not really into the book. Maybe it's just me. I know that characters change and that is important to keep readers happy, but I really hate the changes to the regular characters in the Scarpetta series.

The Book Of The dead almost makes me wish Patricia Cornwell would just stop writing the Scarpetta series. I catch myself rolling my eyes and sighing as I read this book again.

Kay and Benton are finally going to get married, Rose and Lucy have cancer, and Marino has turned into a monster....

I also don't really care for the slight changes in Cornwell's writing style with this book.

In a nutshell, this book just isn't that great. It makes you wish the series would just end. In my opinion the earlier books in the series are much better and more entertaining.
