Boss Me 50 Guitar Effects Pedal By Yangmun Choi on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

The Boss ME-50 Guitar Multiple Effects Board is the one of the most intuitive yet complex digital effects pedal available on the market. Every feature is physically written on the board, and it almost has a zero learning curve.

The basic features this pedal board provides are Tone, Compressor, Noise Silencer, Reverb, Overdrive/Distortion, Modulation, Delay and Expression. The Tone serves as a Pre-Amp simulator, and the Expression is a variable foot pedal with Wah, Resonance, Voice, Ring Mod, and +1 or -1 Octave simulators.

The downside of this pedal is the fact that it is a digital pedal. The distortion effects sound really empty (as in an actual distortion pedal the sound is full). It lacks a reasonable high frequency and low frequency range. In general the sound of this pedal is dissapointing and lacking. The audio qualty boost is worth each individual effect purchased seperately.

how good does the ring modulator sound on this thing? I hate that Boss doesn't have any compact ring modulator pedals, that they only put it in their multi-effects... :(
