BPI ATM Savings Account
By edgt28 onWife and I maintain a savings account (ATM card) with Bank of the Philippines Island or BPI. It is one of the biggest banks here in the Philippines that really offers plenty of products and services. We got one savings account, ATM only no passbook, and initially paid Php3,000.00 and this will serves as our maintaining balance. If we go lower than this at any given time in a month we will be charged with Php300.00 monthly.
We decided to go for an ATM Savings Account so that in case of emergency needs for money and banks' office hours are over we can still withdraw from many Bancnet and Megalink ATMs 24/7. But due to some crimes involving the use of ATM wife and I do not maintain high value of money on this ATM account of ours. We just have here reasonable amount of money to cater our emergency needs.
Opening this account has never been hard. I just need to pay the required maintaining balance on the first day and then get the ATM card after 3 days. We can withdraw money and inquire our balance from other banks' ATM too (Bancnet and Megalink). They allow us to go over-the-counter in case of more than Php20,000.00 withdrawal or ATM malfunction.
The bank's representatives are very accommodating and so far no bad experience concerning my account yet.
