Brassia Poster Conversation Piece By Debbie831 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I was walking around South Haven, MI one summer and walked into an art store. I am not much of an art person but was looking for something to put over my fireplace. I found this poster and fell in love with it.
I had never seen anything like this, a poster that lit up. The headlights on the car light up and really look like the headlights are coming at your, and all the street lights light up. I asked the salesperson about this poster and she said it was a picture representing the artist hometown street Brasso in Transylvania, Romania. Not that that meant anything to me I just loved the picture and thought it would look great in my living room. I really didn't except to pay that much, but I thought this is so unique it will be a great conversation piece.
I did look up the artist on the web and did find out that painters like Picasso, Henry Miller & Georges Braque collected his work. Not really sure if that means anything but it sounded good!
This is my favorite piece in my living room. I tried to show you how it looks when it lights up, it really makes the street come alive. I enjoy just sitting on the couch with all the lights off except the picture and just stare at it. Everyone that comes over loves the picture and says they have never seen anything like it.
Besides the lights I love that it is black & white. I am a big fan of black and white pictures.
