I recently puchased an awesome little blender made by Hamilton Beach called "Single Serve Blender (with travel lid)". I wanted to buy something specifically for making my protein shakes in the morning, and I didn't want to pay extra money for one with a whole lot of features that I would likely never use. This little blender is just big enough to blend two shakes at a time (or one really big one) and its super fast. If you are making a shake or smoothie just for yourself, you have the option of drinking it right out the removable jar. And if you are in a hurry, you can attach the drinking lid to the jar and take the whole thing to go (genius)! There are no on and off switches, just one pulse switch which you can push quickly for short pulses or longer for standard blender type action. The whole unit is really light and there is a groove around the base specifically made for wrapping the cord so you can take it with you on trips. LOVE IT!
