Bridesmaid Dresses...Get The Pattern! By donnabc on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Thank goodness that most of these years are behind me now! But not too long ago, my friends were getting married every time I turned around! And in case YOU have never been in a wedding, let me tell you it can be more than "a little" expensive. So, all you ladies out there planning for your perfect wedding...have you considered the COST your girlfriends have to put forth to BE in your wedding? Well, you should!

One of my close friends chose a pattern from McCall's for our bridesmaid dresses. Instead of hundreds of dollars for a dress we would never wear again, it was a fraction of the cost! The patterns today are just about $10 (and if all the girls are about the same size, you can just buy one). Then find yourself a good seemstress and not only will you save your friends money but the dress will actually be made to fit them!

And if you want to be really generous, you can choose a color and style that just maybe they can use again:0)

My mom made a bridesmaid dress for me to wear. She swore she would never do it again! It had all this netting underneath and it about drove her crazy. It was much less expensive, but don't have your mom attempt it!

Ha! Ours were made by a "professional" lady who worked out of her home. We didn't have nettting or anything fancy like that though :0)
