Bridge to Terabithia

"The Bridge to Terabithia" has always been a favorite book for me to read with my students and children so I was so excited when it became a movie. We rushed to the theatre to see it opening weekend and were so impressed that we were also in the store the day it was released to DVD so we could watch it again. It does deal with come sort of mature concepts so even though it's Disney, you may want to watch it first before watching it with small children so you'll be ready to answer the questions that it evokes.This is a great movie that shows the power of imagination - a theme my daughter really appreciates.This takes you on a great journey through the imagination of two friends - Jess and Leslie. They learn to conquer their fears together and rule "their world."This is a classic story that my daughter has enjoyed sharing with any family member that would listen.The DVD also ahs some great bonus features such as the story of how Terabithia was brought to life, a music video, and commentaries with actors and directors.While this is not a movie that we watch often, I love knowing we have it to pull out for those special occasions.
