Brinks and The Single Girl
By kateri27 onWhen I bought my first house in Cleveland I was living alone.I had the choice between buying a dog or getting an alarm system.I chose to get Brinks put into my new home.
I was fortunate enough to get free installation (a $99.99 value) of the two keypads and the monitor system in my house. It was installed in less then a day and I felt like I could finally sleep a t night.
Brinks gave me a lovely little yard sign and more "Protected by Brinks" stickers for windows then I would ever need to use.
The security system also came with a feature called glass break. If a window shatters, even if no one enters the house, the security system goes off. This feature is great, but if you have cats like I do, you might want to disable it.I actually ended up getting a call that my alarm was going off in the middle of the night.i was so very frightened, and it turned out just to be my cat knocking down and shattering a glass vase in the kitchen.
I found the price for piece of mind well worth it.I would highly recommend getting a Brinks system in your home if you live by yourself.Just think twice about the glass break feature if your pets like to knock things over.

This is the perfect service for women or the elderly who live alone. It does give you a measure of peace and security. My only nit with them is at least here in California you can't just pre pay each year. How frustrating that is!
I would have this if I lived alone too.... and probably should have it anyway.
If I was living alone I would definitely want this installed where I lived. Thanks for sharing how this works and what the cost is, that's great information to know. Also, glad it was only the kitty :O)
I live alone and had the same concerns. I do sleep better at night knowing I have an alarm system. I never checked into brinks but my contract is coming up and I am going to look around. Mine is a little more expensive! Thanks for the information.
The glass break feature that Brinks offers is a great one! Thankfully when yours went off it was because of your cat! My heart would have been going a mile a minute!
When I was single, I used to wish I had something like this. I had no idea it was so inexpensive! Thanks for sharing your experience with this product!
I seem to be the type that would have chosen the dog and had to dealt with the poo for years and years, lol. Brinks seems like a good choice tho if you lived alone without a dog (as long as your cats weren't too clumsy, lol).
