Brita Faucet Mount Filter By Kman63 By kman63 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Drinking water straight from the tap not only tastes unpleasant, but is also bad for your body. Not to mention, buying bottled water becomes expensive over time. This Brita faucet-mounted filter is an essential to have in my kitchen. I found it simple to install, as it only needs threaded onto the end of a faucet. FIlter cartrige removal and installation is made easy with a button on the back that locks or unlocks the cartrige. A switch on the side of the unit toggles between unfiltered water for washing hands and dishes, and filtered water for drinking. On the front of the unit is an LED light that flashed red when the cartrige needs changed, which is very convenient so I won't have to guess when it is time for a new filter. A filter cartrige will wear out within a few months, but despite the fact they are somewhat short-lived, it is worth it for the quality of water that comes out. After passing through the filter, the taste and smell of chlorine is gone. It also removes trace amounts of harmful chemicals such as lead and arsenic which is present in many water systems. Now that I am used to Brita water, I couldn't ever go back to drinking straight out of the faucet. All in all, it's a necessity to treating your body better or saving money on bottled water.
