Brita Water Filtration System
By crunkyjens onRecently for the past year and a half I was buying 24 packs of bottled water week after week.I live in a third floor apartment, so lugging those up the stairs got to be a real pain, not to mention a pain in my wallet as well as I drink loads of water all day every day. Finally one day I actually used my noggin and thought to myself "why don't I get a water filter?"And that's exactly what I did!I ended up purchasing the Brita UltraMax water filter which holds up to 1.13 gallons of water.
I can't believe how much money I have saved myself since purchasing this filter.I probably spent about $10-$15 a week on water, so over the course of a year, around $600.00 I spent! That is just ridiculous and you don't realize how much you actually spend until you add it up like that.
I usually end up refilling the filter about once every couple of days, and I keep it on the bottom shelf of my fridge for easy access. There is a battery powered gauge on the filter as well so it lets you know when you have to change the filter so until you see that red arrow, you don't even have to think about it!Also the battery that comes with the filter is supposed to last up to five years, so that's great too.
The water that comes out of this filter is clean and crisp tasting, you can't detect any impurities!I have seen many reviews on other websites about mold appearing in this filter after time but I personally have never experienced it.I usually wash the filter probably about once a month and never let water just sit in there as I am constantly refilling it.
Overall I would definitely recommend this water filter. It is great family sized filter, or sized perfectly for one or two people that drink a lot of water during the day, such as me.If you are constantly buying bottled water you should definitely look into purchasing a filter instead. You will save so much money as I proved above! You won't regret it!

I love drinking water from my brita filter. I think it is so much beeter, like you said, for the environment and for my wallet. I know water bottles are so easy to grab and use, but I just fill up a nalgene bottle and carry that around to the gym and work and voila...instant water bottle and savings!
Thata what I like saving money and the enviroment from all that plastic. Thank you
So good for the planet too, not being a part of needing all those plastic bottles! I haven't seen their big one, such as you describe. Sounds great.
Thanks for the detailed information. I have wondered about just how well these worked and if the water really tasted good. I will have to look into this product.
Yeah we spend a lot on bottles of water. My husband takes them to work. I plan to get a nice filter after we move. I will look into this one.
Not only did you save mula but, also the planet! Kudos!
I remember we had a brita filter like 10 years ago. Back then it was so slow to get water through that filtration system. These days its so much quicker. Much better alternative to wasting money on bottles of water when they're usually not even from fancy springs or anything. Great review!
i have used different brand water filters which is mabzi. i am satisfied with them as well. but this one looks nice and effective too. i'll look into this when mine needs replacement.
