Britax Decathalon By Teachergal By Teachergal on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I really researched which car seat to buy when our daughter began to outgrow her infant car seat, which I loved! I decided on the Britax because all of the reviews were so positive and it definitely shined as the safest brand of car seat. We got the Decathlon because I thought the padding would help our baby to feel cozy and protected, as she was still used to her infant seat and she's pretty tiny. I am so surprised that it has been a difficult transition! The straps are very hard to pull tight, and she screams every time I put her in the car seat and adjust them. My friend said she had the same problem with the Decathlon while it was rear-facing, but that the situation improved once she turned the car seat around. It is also hard to install and never feels quite as tight as our infant car seat did. I am hoping the situation will improve when we change to forward-facing, but so far I am not impressed. The padding is great though, and I am just praying it's as safe as they say it is- then all of our struggles will be worth it!

For that price you should get perfection!

I too hope things will change once you change this into a forward facing seat.
