Britax Marathon
By tsmommy06 onWhen my son was 6 months old, he outgrew his infant carrier.We had received an Evenflo Trimuph car seat for him at our baby shower.We went to get it installed and it was a complete nightmare.The technician had a horrible time installing the seat and then we couldn't the buckles correct and my son was so uncomfortable.The car seat technician basically told us that we should return the seat and get something better.I told him I had heard good things about Britax and he told us that was the car seat he used for his kids.We went out that day and purchased the Britax Marathon.
When we returned to the fire station to have our new seat installed, it only took a few minutes and my son was so comfortable.

The feature that I liked the best was being able to keep my son rear facing for a long time.Because we had a Britax Marathon, he was able to stay rear facing until his 2nd birthday.He was super comfortable and because the seat is so big, he still had a lot of leg room (even though he did have to keep his legs crossed or out to the side) - and he is in the 75th percentile for height.
It was also very important to keep my son in a car seat with a 5-point harness for as long as possible.I'm feel so much safer knowing that he can be in this seat until he is 65 pounds.I love the fact that he won't have to move into a booster seat too early.
The only reason I didn't give this seat a solid 5 is because it isn't very portable.This, however, isn't an important feature to us.We are happy to leave this seat in the car as safely secured by a car seat techincian.
I would recommend this car seat to every new parent.It is a bit expensive but well worth every penny in my opinion.

This sounds ideal for a child who is large as compared to age. It's really hard to find so products for kids like that.
