Brother Advantage is a combination scanner, fax and printer. It has taken me awhile to get used to it. It is alot different then the one that I had before. I do like the multi functions and I am very pleased with this product. It is a reliable product. It does save space having it all in one. I do recommend reading the instructions and expect to go through the learning aspects. It prints out fantastic pictures and overall proves itself very worthwhile. Its durable and I got lucky , because it fit into the computer desk exactly like I needed it to. I am hoping it will last a long time. I was happy to finaly have one unit instead of several because space was an issue for me. I have enough taking up space in my office as it is. This would be the major advantage of this product. I am still learning about some of it's functions because I have not had it very long. Only time will tell about it's production . The ink cartridges are rather exspensive and this may be something that you want to check further into. I really was not too happy about this aspect of it all. If you print alot, than this may be a problem.I wanted to print alot more but slowed down when I realised this was getting exspensive. It is not economical for a tight budget or mass amounts of printing. It may be better to find an online resource for ink cartridges. I have shopped for them and found them to be high even at Walmart. If it had not be a gift, I probaly would have made a different choice.
