Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See By Tina Lehman By Tina Lehman on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See, written by Bill Martin Jr. 40 years ago, is one of my daughter's favorite books. It begins by asking a brown bear what he sees. Well, he sees a 'red bird looking at me,' as you turn the page and see a red bird. Then we ask the red bird what he sees, and so on.
My little girl has gone from simply looking at the pictures, to making animal sounds that correspond to the animals pictured, to actually naming the animals. So, this book is great for older babies as well as toddlers.
Eric Carle illustrated this book, and his drawings are characteristic of his style and are beautiful.
We have the board book version and it has held up really well. I highly recommend this book!

A wonderful classic. I can probably still recite it by heart. Every child should have this read to them.
