Bt Openworld Router By NemesisofMoles on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

After about 2 years of low speed (1meg) broadband, I finnaly took the plundge and ordered the 10meg package from BT. The price was ok, then they told me I'd need a new router. Fine i though, I'll be able to use my Xbox online too. Then they told me I'd have to pay them extra for the prvilage of the box. Oh.

The problem with the box is, while its not cheap or unreliable, it LOOKS very cheap, cheap plastic and makes clicking noises when you turn it on, while not a bad bit of kit, it just feels like its been made just to make an extra £30. While the internet service itself is fantastic, the setup also suffers from some complaints, mainly getting the damn thing to run properly the first time.

I've also encountered some randm disconnections that can only be fixed by unplugging the modem then plugging it back in.

In end, I wouldnt say avoid it, as much as be a bit carful, its not that good but not that bad either

Up to you.
