Butter Mint Rolls James' Candy Company By Sparkle333 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I thought that I was buying salt water taffy when I picked up this box, because there was a logo in the top left corner with those words. However, it turned out to be Butter Mint Rolls, which were also very good. They are extremely rich, so you won't want more than a couple at a time.

Each mint is individually wrapped and they come in pink, green and yellow colors. They are called Homemade Seaside Confections, and are made in Atlantic City, NJ, so they are made in the USA! Yay! I purchased these at Ross, but they can also be purchased at www.jamescandy.com. These are soft candies that pretty much immediately melt in your mouth. The taste is a combination of creamy butter and peppermint.

The price at Ross was $4.99, and they retail at $10.99 on the web site, so that was quite a bargain! The packaging is very inviting. It is a seashore scene, with a child standing at the edge of the water. This was a 12 ounce box of mints. They are also available in a seasonal tin box.

They are quite high in calories and carbs, so moderation is the key. Again, since they are so rich, it's difficult to eat too many. I'm a diabetic, so I need to be especially careful. I think these mints would make a wonderful gift, and they would look lovely displayed in a crystal candy dish, because they are so colorful.
