Buy A Descent Office Chair Not This One By jb_shops on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

A long long time ago I setup my home office and probably like many of you I was scrapped for cash, so I tried to save some money and I bought a cheap chair. Well this is the classic case of, you-get-what-you-pay-for.

I laugh now when I see the chair advertised by OfficeMax. "Executive High Back Chair" If you invest in a company that has this chair for the executives, I would really really worry about the stability of the company!!!

What's good?

- High back

- Doesn't cost a fortune

- Five casters add some stability

- Fairly easy to adjust

What's not good?

- Light duty (not for everyday use)

- Limited lumbar support

- Arms cannot be adjusted

Conclusion:

- Buy something that matches your requirements! If you need a light duty inexpensive chair , you might consider it. But for almost everyone else, buy something that will be comfortable and last.

I need a new chair for my craft room. Mine sinks everytime I sit down and I feel like I am at the kids table. Thanks for the warnings on this one.

Good suggestions. I sit a while and test first. I have a chair now built out of two different types. Custom Webby deluxe!

I'll put your advice to use. My current "office chair" is an old kitchen chair. I need to go shopping!

I am a picky product & service snob. Unfortunately my caviar tastes don't match my catfish budget. I am proud......
