Call od Duty: World (COD: WaW) at War is the latest in the series for games that have been comming out for years. It has historically been a franchise of game that concentrated on an older time period in war. That is with the exception of COD 4 which was a take on modern warfare.

COD: WaW goes back to what the franchise knows bes WWII.Taking the best of what COD 4 had to offer.Firstly is that now popular or even standard of being able to use the sights of the gun.In games like Halo aiming was nothing more then simply moving the reticle over the target and shooting.Call of Duty brings a sense of realism to the game by allowing the player to bring the gun up for a view through the sights and a higher level of accuracy with which to hit the target.

The single player is all of what you would expect from a WWII game that tries to hold on to relaism. It is hard, fast paced, and very realistic. There are points where you see yourself or your teammates being taken, beaten, and even shot.At some level you begin to hope that your character is able to survive and is not destined to serve the fate of so many of your teammates.

The multiplayer is where the game truly shines.Oldfaithful multiplayer modes come back in the form of Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag. With modifications of these like Domination and Headquarters. Both of these are very much alike. In Domination there are three flags that you have to take control of.For each second that a flag is controlled your team gets a point have 2 flags and get two points.Hold all three and recieve an extra point on top of the three that you get for the flags.First to a certain point total wins.

Headquarters is that same idea except that there is only one point to take control of, and once it has been help for a certain period of time, it moves to another place in the map.

The newest addition is a "Nazi Zombie" Mode, where you and up to three friends are trapped in a house that is about to be over-run by zombies who just happen to be Nazis. The player begins with a pistol and recieves points for every shot that hits a zombie.Get enough points and you can buy better weapons and move to other areas in the house. The trick is that if you move there are more areas for the zombies to come in from.If you stay and don't move you won't have access to the stronger weapons. With every wave that you push back they get stronger and stronger. So choosing when you move is very important.

Oveall I feel that this is a very solidly built game, strong graphics and story with an amazing multiplayer aspects leads this to possibly be on of the best games of the year.
