Calling All Nj Gardeners By JennEm on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This handy guide is a terrific addition to your library if you do any kind of gardening in New Jersey from veggies to flowers to grass to trees.

The guide is written in a month-by-month style, which makes it really easy to read and to find the information you need. You can just flip to whatever month you are in and it lets you know what you should be doing that month. Sections are divided into annuals, bulbs, fruits, ground covers and vines, houseplants, lawns, perennials, roses, shrubs, trees and vegetables. At the end of each month in each section there is a place to make notes.

The book also discusses topics like what kind of grass grows best in what areas of the states, and what kind of pests to look out for and how to fight them. It tells how and when to water and fertilize different types of plants, and it even gives special tips on each kind of plant.

I have gone back to this book again and again while taking care of my garden over the years. It's a very helpful book.
