Calphalon Contemporary Cutlery 17-Piece Knife Set

I bought these at Christmas time and I really like them.They are nice looking.They are pretty bold and heavy.The design of the handle makes them easy to hold.There are 17 pieces including the block and sharpener.The knives you get are a paring, utility, bread, chefs, slicer, santoku and steak (8 of those).You also get a set of kitchen shears.The blades are nice thick quality metal.The do a nice job cutting and they sharpen very good.They do say they are dishwasher safe, but mine got a little spot of rust on it when it was washed.I think it was from sitting in the dishwasher during the drying process.I think you would be okay if you took them out of the dishwasher before the dry cycle starts.I just wash mine by hand now.It really takes no effort at all.This is a more expensive cutlery set, but I think it is well worth it.I really like them.
