Can You See My Pole Light By Scott Parizo on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I recently had to replace my stern light for my Fourwinns 190 Horizon. The old one the connectors went bad and would not connect to the plug on the stern of the boat and which when it did connect any sudden jerking would cause the light to flicker and would not keep a solid connection. The light is a 55" alluminum tube pole with a dome plastic cover over a small light bulb that illuminatese the rear of the boat which is required as a navigational light according to the boat laws here in Vermont. The light is very easy to use as it stands tall and plugs into the side rail on drivers side of the boat. I purchased this light through a Fourwinns Dealer where I purchased my boat at Roadside Marine for 44.00. The only problem was Fourwinns is very slow about ordering products and took me 2 weeks to get it in.

I'm not certain these swould be legal as a stand in for rear lights in California. However, I have seen these on many boats and they do a fine job of lighting the way home to safe harbour.
Sounds easy enough to change out with a plug in... of course, that ease might be part of the reason the exposed plug went bad?
