Wow...This is by far the most hardcore film I think I've ever seen. Really hard on the eyes, but visually stunning and well done. Think NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC with a touch of cannibalism and gang rape. The forced abortion scene is quite disturbing, and the ritualistic punishment for adultry was perhaps the most violent thing i've ever seen on film. There's amputations, genital dismemberment, pieces of god-only-knows, etc.,etc. Even poor turtles get ripped apart and eaten. It's pretty much no-holds barred from start to finish. That said, it's also one of my favorites. It's taken a long time to make this film widely available, and all of you out there should take advantage of this. For christ's sake. Rent it now...
