Canon 3 In 1 Printer Is Slow Going Quality By Demon_Buttercup on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Canon 3-in-1 MP210 series printer came with my Dell computer package. While I was eager to replace my old HP printer, I have never had a Canon and was unsure of the quality.

I must say I was at once impressed with the sleekness and glossiness. It has all sorts of buttons and it instantly reminded me of the copier machine at the library. The printer has scanning capacities, as well as being able to copy and print. There are also different settings for what size paper you are using - so you can basically use the copying servce without even having to move your mouse or touch your keyboard.

The quality of the print is excellent. I have mine set on the fastest and least amount of ink because I print so much. Everything is still clear and highly visible. However, after only about 2 weeks, I am already getting warnings that my ink levels are extremely low. I have yet to figure out if the ink cartridges that came with it were only trial size amounts - I won't really know until I purchase new ones and see how long they last. We have probably printed approx 300 sheets already. I could get about 1000 sheets out of my HP printer per ink cartridge however.

What I really don't like about the Canon printer is the speed and noise. There is constant movement inside as it sets and resets itself. I have clicked print and waited almost 30 seconds for it to moan and groan and get itself ready to print. If I have lots to print and click away at the print button, it will print in a fast, continuous manner, but a 10 second delay in hitting the print button and you are once again stuck with moaning & groaning resetting for another 30 seconds.

Overall, it is a much better quality printer than my previous one, and I love the scanner built in. However, the slowness and noise level cause me to give this printer a lower rating. There has to be better ones out there.

MP is that a multipass? Oh man never had any luck with their Multipasses! One part of it (they are usually all in one printer/scanner/copier) always quit working before the others and Canon support was never much help.

That's really too bad about the speed & the noisiness of your printer!
