I am doing a review on my Canon 40D D-SLR 10.1 megapixel digital camera, purchased at Best Buy for $1499.99. This camera supercedes its predecessor, the 30D, with several new, wonderful improvements. It has a 3 inch LCD monitor which is easy to see. It has Live View capability, which means I can view my picture before I actually take it. This camera has an internal ultrasonic sensor cleaner. Whenever the camera is turned on or off, the sensor cleaner will function automatically, and this feature can be turned on or off manually. My personal opinion as a professional photographer is that the Canon 40D is a wonderful unit. The picture quality is outstanding, the colors are true, bright and vivid. There is a full array of modes which allow me to set this camera to any shooting style I prefer. Battery energy consumption is minimal, and I have been able to shoot for 4 to 5 hours without changing the battery. The Canon 40D also comes with a built-in flash. I would recommend using high quality Canon lenses to enable the camera to produce its optimal performance. My personal overall feeling is that this is another wondeful product from Canon. This camera is suited for the semi-professional to the professional. Even if you are an amateur, though, the camera is easy to learn and well worth the effort.
