I received the camcorder on Christmas of 2006. As soon as I unwrapped it, I started using it right away. I really like it. Now after having my first baby, I find myself using it nearly everyday to catch her doing new things to record for her father while he is at work and so she can see herself as a child when she gets to be an adult. The battery does seem to need to be charged quite a bit and I would preferred if it was a little bit lighter in weight. The picture quality is very good. You are able to adjust the distance and volume. It takes a mini dv or a standard sd card which you can take pictures and record video on either the dv or sd card. You can set the screen to wide or a standard setting. Digital display effects are also an option. You can move the flip screen 270 degrees. There is an easy to use menu screen. It has a av port, firewall slot and a mini usb slot. The battery is on the back which needs to be charged while attached to the camera. Overall, I am very satisfied with my camcorder.
