Canon Sd1000 By Hedy on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I love my Canon SD1000. It's a great small size-easy to pop in your purse or a pocket. Despite its small size, its pictures are great (it's 7.1 megapixels). The camera has what I consider to be a great amount of options for different shooting modes: Fireworks, Foliage, Aquarium-even my personal favorite and most-often used, Kids and Pets. The Canon SD1000 has a “face detect feature”-I haven't actually noticed a difference in my pictures, but it's interesting when I focus a shot and it finds the faces. It uses a proprietary battery, which I was worried about, coming from a camera which used AA batteries. However, I've found that the battery has a long life and it's easy enough to charge. I've used it for short video segments as well as still photos and been happy.
