If you are looking to move into the age of High Definition, the Canon Vixia HF10 is an excellent buy. This sleek black camera is incredibly compact and resourceful. The HF10 can shoot in full 1080 and the Dual Flash Memory can record up to about 2 hours of footage at a time. The battery that comes with the camera will last about 50 minutes when fully charged, however a three hour battery can easily be purchased at a low cost. One slight problem, however, with the Vixia HF10 is the audio quality. It picked up audio very well but the wind filter does not really reduce the wind at all. Canon understood they could not make a great mic available to come shipped with the camera so they added a simple, very convenient mic jack. In other words, if you don't like the sound quality, Canon will let you plug a different microphone in to get better quality.

The image quality is just amazing and it baffles your mind how some can sell it for under $600. The retail price is around $900, but you can find deals around the web if you look closely. I bought this for $449 and I am shocked at how nice it is. I highly reccommend this camcorder!
