Care for your Boat Teak with Star Brite

Boat owners know maintenance is an ongoing process. Boat manufacturers utilize teak wood for trim and accessories because of its ability to withstand the elements. Our boat has a lot of teak. We noticed the teak was looking grey, worn, and needed a little TLC. We found the Star Brite Teak Care Kit and decided to try it.

The care kit comes with three 16 oz bottles: Teak Cleaner, Teak Brightener, and Teak Oil. The cleaner is used first, followed by the brightener, and after the teak is dry, you apply the oil.

The Star Brite Teak Care Kit is amazing. I have never seen any wood restorer work so fast and easy. You apply the product with a brush or cloth. For even application, we found a small paint brush to work the best. Once you apply the cleaner, you let it set for a minute, and rinse with a hose. We were astonished by all the muck that flowed off the teak when we rinsed it. After cleaning, the brightener is applied, allowed to set for five minutes, and rinsed. The brightener brings the rich teak color back to life. The oil is the last step and it is not rinsed after application. This teak oil is specially formulated to protect the wood from UV and harsh salt-water wear. It also makes the teak wood look beautiful.

The actual labor only took about 10 minutes. Of course, drying time took a while and anticipation of seeing the finished product was agonizing. Once we saw the finished product, we were impressed by how something so simple to use could bring such fantastic results. We highly recommend the Star Brite Teak Care Kit for boat teak maintenance.
