Careers For Your Characters By hoover3875 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Writer's Digest Book Club's Careers for your Characters has much useful information for fiction writers. It has one hundred and one different careers. For each one there is lowdown - what each one is about. Next is a job description for each one. It also lists the daily life. This includes everyday words a character would use in each one. It gives information on what type of education the character would have to get that career as well as conflicts. Following there are myths about the job and also information on jobs within the profession. With every profession at the end is a list of references in the form of books, movies, television and web sites. Three hundred and twenty-three pages are in the book all together. This is the first book I turn to when writing up a character sketch.
