Carmex Lip Balm
By Kakoa onI have always used Vaseline lip balm to keep my lips soft. I prefer the cherry flavor, but lately I have not been able to find it anywhere. Instead, I decided to try this Carmex Cherry lip balm. I figured it would be about the same, but boy was I wrong!
This lip balm is a Vaseline gel consistency and goes on nicely. You just squeeze the balm right onto your lips, no need to get your fingers messy. That's about the only good thing about this product!
As soon as I spread it on my lips and tasted it for the first time I made a horrible face! It tastes like nasty over medicated lip balm. The first thing I thought of was that it tasted like bug spray! After about 3 minutes I started to feel a tingling on the edges of my lips. Yuck!
I kept it on just to see if it would at least help my dry lips. Well, it didn't. About 10 minutes later my lips were dry again and still tasted bad. The package says it is SPF 15, but it wore off so fast I doubt it would help in the sun at all.

You know, I like Carmex when I have a cold sore or sunburned lips, but I'm with you otherwise, I just like my Vaseline!!
I had no idea Carmex offered a flavor. It's hard to get Cherry right and sounds like the missed the boat on this one. The regular version tingles too for me.
I too kind of like Carmex when I have fever blisters or my lips get really irritated. It does have a medicine taste, but at least for me, Carmex is ok.
My friend used Carmex for fever blisters when we were teens, I don't use chapstick or anything other than lipstick, sounds like this is more of a medicated product.
