CARPENTERS 25TH ANNIVERSARY

One of the most famous musical brother and sister team I heard growing up was Karen & Richard Carpenter. Oh, the voice of Karen Carpenter was and always will be pretty special. This particular two disc set is really pretty decent. It has many of their hits such as Yesterday Once More, Rainy Days and Mondays, Ticket to Ride, Goodbye To Love, Its Going To Take Sometime This Time, For All We Know, Close To You and many others. I can well remember how many of these songs were always on the top of the charts throughout the years.

One of the things that I found interesting was how Richard always seemed very much in the background of it all. Most folks have know idea that he won 5 grammy nominations for his musical works and arrangements. These two were so popular in the decade of the 1970"s that only Elton John and the Bee Gee's had more gold records than these two. I seldom ever hear them on the radio anymore. That is a real shame. If you have never heard Karen Carpenter sing before find one of her songs and listen. I think you will be pretty impressed.
