I like the Carpet Fresh with Baking Soda Vanilla Scent Rug and Room Deodorizer Powder made by WD-40. It comes in a 14 ounce canister that you can shake to distribute over the carpet. This powder does have a long lasting scent and that is what I like about it. The baking soda in it helps to get rid of pet, cooking, smoke and musty odors. You can use Carpet Fresh on upholstery, in the basement, garbage cans, diaper pails and inside cars to freshen them up. All you have to do is when you vacuum is just sprinkle some powder over the carpet by shaking the container, then wait 5 minutes and vacuum. You can use a little more if you need it for stronger odors that are hard to get rid of. Do not use it on wet or damp areas. The vanilla scent is a nice scent and it hands around for a while, too. This scent reminds me of fresh baked cookies. I purchased this product at Fred's Discount Store for $2.99. It will last a long time because you just sprinkle it on the carpets. It think this is a great product and I do recommend.
