Bought this brand new car 3 years ago. After having it for around 6 months the front part of the left door just rot away with fine pieces of cardboard coming out slowly on the car floor. Got the whole panel changed since it was under warranty. I guessed that during the process of manufacturing, water gets onto the softbroad inside and rots it away.
The whole exhaust pipe was just changed which caused me RM 300 for the original parts . Before the change the car just simply will not pick up even though we pressed the oil. After changing the exhaust ,the problem of picking up is fixed. With a brand new car I don't understand why the exhaust pipe can get block so fast.
The other major problem is that it produces a high pitched sound whenever we pressed the brake. Checked with mechanics , there is still brake pad there so he also cannot find out what actually produced that screeching sound.

I agree with you with Proton Wira is not a very good quality car. In fact due to the success of its predecessors, the company just churns out cars without paying much attention to its quality. As the waiting periods then could ran into months, they can afford to do that. But now, with the cheaper foreign cars and current economy condition, Proton is indeed suffers from its earlier act with a big slide in profit and market shares. I would say never get yourself a Proton Wira car; in fact it is best not to buy any Proton car. Just not worth your money. The problems highlighted above is only some minor problems. I would say the owner is lucky as he/she didn't have any major problem such as transmission problem or engine problem.
