Cartel Chroma By tribefan on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Cartel is a punk-rockish, sort of pop sounding band that got my attention when they released the album "Chroma." They are almost emo, with very emotional lyrics, and sing about typical teenage things, with lots of guitars. I really enjoy "Say Anything," "Honestly," and "Burn This City;" they have great rythms and solid vocals, and are very catchy. Unfortunately, many of the songs seem pretty generic, with mediocre lyrics, something that the band needs to work on. The CD ends on a great note, with the songs "Q" and "A," two long but energetic songs.
"Chroma" is a fairly average album that hints at big things for the band. This is a very fun listen, however, and great for a summer day, but don't expect much depth.
