This spring I bought a nightgown for my daughter for the first time. At two years old, I thought it was time to get her out of onesies and into something distinctly girly.

She was absolutely thrilled with this nightgown. I bought it a size too big (a 3T rather than a 2T) and it fits really well. (In fact, I would recommend purchasing a size up, since being too long isn't an issue.) It doesn't bind anywere, and is very comfortable.

I would like to see the neck hole a little bigger, or with more give in it, as sometimes it's hard to get it on and off. But this is a minor point. It also pills a bit after repeated washings but has otherwise held up well. By now, it's been through dozens of wash cycles because as soon as it gets dirty I have to wash it. My little girl is now always asking for her Ice Cream Cone nighty.
