My cat was born outside so she has a crazy temperment. She acts like a wild animal indoors. It is very odd because she will not go and play outside. She is afraid of the outdoors but she acts like she is in a jungle when she is in my house. I got her a small scratching post so she would stop shredding my box spring of my bed. That didn't last very long because she quaickly destroyed it. Another bad habit she has is climbing up the blinds to get to the window so she can sit and look out side. I went to walmart to try to find something for her that would stop these bad habits of hers. I found this 3 tier cat tree. It goes all the way up to the ceiling and it has three different levels for her to perch on. It is very durable and it has carpet on it for her to scratch and run up and down. She scales it just like a tree and them sleeps on the perches. To my surprise she immediately stopped using my bed as a scratching post and she stopped tearing up my blinds to get to the window. This is a great product!
