It seems the original writing of this book comes from the Rome office, Inside the Vatican. It was translated in English for The United States of America. It was copyrighted in 1994 by the United States Catholic Conference, Inc.and contains 800 pages. Anything and everything concerning the Catholic Church is written in this book. It is considered the authority to follow by Catholics. This book goes into great detail concerning how the Catholic Church stands on different subjects. This book is the result of over six years of intense work. Experts in Catholic theology assisted in the writing of this book. It is interesting to note that our present Pope Benedict was the chairperson for the writing of this book. At that time he was known as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. I purchased this hard cover book from the EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network) store for about 25.00. When I opened the book, I was thoroughly delighted to see a sweet message on the first page written by Mother Angelica, the founder of EWTN. Her hand written note said, "Jesus Loves You-Mother M. Angelica." This in itself makes me very happy to own this book. Any questions I had concerning the Catholic Church inspired me to find the answers in this Catechism of the Catholic Church.
