Reviewing: Chantix Smoking Cessation Medication

I so want to quit smoking and have tried for the past 6 months without success.I had heard of Chantix and the great results achieved by many people and decided to give it a whirl.I needed that extra "heave-ho" to help me with this nasty habit.I have been on Chantix for several days now and am already developing a distaste for cigarettes. It has been said that this medication blocks the pleasure of smoking and I am already seeing this happen and the craving start to dissapate for cigarettes. Not to be called a "miracle" drug by some this medication comes in a neat, easily understandable starter box.All the directions are clearly labled taking the guesswork out of how to begin. The only side effect I have noticed at this point is a little dryness in my mouth, which is easily remedied with drinking water. If you want to quit smoking and are having trouble on your own try this new medication.Give the "gift" of being a nonsmoker to yourself and reap the health benefits of being smoke-free.

Angel, I hope you know about on-line supports to get rid of the sickarettes. I use quitnet, though it does cost money. there are other suports that are free. I've only heard good things about Chantix, hope it takes for you, too.

Is this a prescription or over the counter medication? My mom so badly wants to quite too. Has it helped you at all? Were you able to quite while on this? Im really interested in your results since you published the review if this product helped or not. Would you recommend it for my mom to try?

I'd recommend Chantix. I smoked for 30 years, 2 packs a day, and was able to quit by using Chantix for four months to get over the hardest part. I haven't smoked for 2 and 1/2 years now. Best thing I ever did for myself :-)

Yes, Strawberryshortcake. The Chantix did work for me. It does have a few side effects, however. These side effects only last a few weeks though so it is totally worth it. I had some nausea with this medication. I feel so much better now though. Chantix is a prescription medication. I would definitely recommend it for your mom. I wish you the best.

Good review. we must be careful with chantix and zyban...there are some risky symptoms related to depression that i researched... http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-14054-SF-Mental-Health-Examiner~y2009m7d6-Chantix-Zyban-mental-health-risk-for-smokers
