Charter DVR Box
By pamarama onWe rent this box as part of our cable. This box gets overheated very quickly. It also has a very short lifespan. We have had this box for less than six months and already it needs to be replaced. It was working fine until the rewind feature went wacky. When we rewound live shows, the quality went down hill and we could see the squares and boxes of the picture. Now it is recording all shows this way. We are going to get it replaced next week, but I am going to look into buying one. We have been paying to rent this one and we could probably buy a better one for the cost of rental. The features are pretty basic, and it does not search for shows by topic. Also, the hard drive does not hold enough shows. We have to keep deleting shows we have saved for the kids.
A whole new world of things to learn about.
I wondered how many shows this holds. I guess it has a limited number of recordings...it's not like saving them forever. I need to check into getting one of these.
Aww I'm sorry to hear your DVR is giving you problems. I haven't had too many problems with mine although sometimes it forgets to record my shows...lol I don't quite understand why cuz I have them set to record. Hopefully you can buy one that won't give you problems rewinding and recording your shows all pixel-y.
