Chase Finance
By Momof2Disneyboys onWhen we built our new home in the summer of 2006 we financed through a local bank. It was the bank I had previously worked at for several years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. So we were very familiar with how things worked there and the people there. Well, only about a month or two after our construction mortgage closed they soldthe mortgage to Chase Home finance.
At first I was not happy. I was used to taking my payment into the bank all my life, and now I was going to have to mail it. Plus the fact that they were not local just made me uneasy about the whole thing. Our actual monthly mortgage payment gets mailed to Arizona. Our taxes and insurance are in escrow with them. I have to mail our tax bills to Texas. And our insurance bills to Georgia. So it is a big pain!
But I have to say that other than that I haven't had any problems with them. They send us a monthly statement showing the activity from the previous month. It breaks down the principal, interest, and any extra paid, and it also includes any tax or insurance they may have paid out. So being a former banker I like being able to see all that. They have always paid our taxes and insurance on time. So I can't really complain.

good to know if we ever have to refinace
I have had mortgage sold to other companies as well. It is always scary at first but I haven't had any major problems either. I'm glad to know that Chase has worked well for you in the end. I don't have my mortgage through them but I do have their credit cards.
sounds like all in all things went pretty good. Thanks for sharing your experience
I'm glad this is working out for you. I'm always wary of the big companies.
Wow, that would be a pain sending all of those payments to completely different areas. I love going with local banks too when possible. But it is great that it seems to have worked out for you though. Thanks for the information!
We have ours through Chase too...well it is now that they bought it up:0) Wonder why all your stuff goes to different places? We pay our bill online so I'm not sure where I would mail it:0)
I have used Chase Bank for my mortgage and their statements are wonderful. Very easy to understand and their customer service is great too.
hate to say it - over the years we have had our mortgage moved over to several companies. We were always notified by mail. Don't understand why, but never had a problem with our payments. It's just scary when your are used to handling it one way and then it's changed.
My mortgage was also sold to Chase from my home bank. You did a great job of describing the quality of service.
Glad to hear that everything work out well with the switch.
