The Imation series of recordable CDs are amazing. We are not sure if they are really from imation, because each CD only costs about 25 cents and comes without a case. They come in spools of 100 and are usually sold on retail.

But they are very reliable. Compared to other lower priced recordable CDS, the bad CDs in a spool of 100 is less than 5%.

One thing about these CDs in spools is, after using up 10 of them without a glitch, the probably the whole batch is good. If after 10 CDs and you get several unwritable CDs then whole batch could be corrupted.

I can't really say if these imation CDs can last very long. But for my purpose of saving data to give to others, like my layouts, it works just fine. And the price is right, too.
