Reviewing: Chefmate 2 In 1 Grill Brush
Purchased at: Target     Price: $4.99 USD

I purchased the Chefmate 2-in-1 Grill Brush at the beginning of Summer and I have been using it weekly for several months now. Four things attracted me to this brush 1) it was pretty (sorry, I'm a girl these things matter), 2) it was a great price, 3) it had a really nice long handle and 4) it had 2 heads.

This is a heavy duty brush and does an amazing job cleaning the grill. The rosewood handle on this brush is 14 inches long and the head and scraper part add another 6 1/2 inches to it so your hands stay far away from the heat. The head is mounted on a stainless steel plate that forms into the scraper at the very end. Since the scraper is part of the whole piece and not just screwed or glued on, it is really strong and has no looseness or wobble to it so you can push really hard.

Like I mentioned this brush has 2 heads built into it. They measure in at 2 1/2 x 3 inches so they are a nice large size but not too big so you can not get into the corners. There is a little knob at the bottom of one of them that turns to remove that head. I assume this is so you can purchased replacement heads for it. Next time I am in the store and need a new brush I will check out how much they sell for and see if it is worth it to buy the replacement heads or just a whole new brush.

After several months of use, the brush is still in excellent condition and I have not even worn out one of the heads yet. The bristles are very strong and get even stuck on BBQ sauce off easily. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Update On Feb 27, 2010: This grill brush is going on 2 years old now and has some bent bristles but still works great. There is no rust and the handle is in great shape.

I never thought about grill brushes being pretty..My dad has a pretty worn down one that he has been using, this sounds like a good replacement to look for.
