Chevrolet Cobalt 16 Wheel
By Maliki2 onMy wife hit a pot-hole and bent my 16" wheel on my 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LT sedan. I went to my local dealership and they wanted $391 for the wheel! Thats right $391 for a Alluminum wheel....absolutely insane!
So I looked online and found that you could get them off Ebay for about $75-$150 but who knows what you get when you order from ebay! The online GM parts store had them for $290..which was $100 less than what the local dealership wanted. It is only a Cobalt but when you need to get a new wheel you do what you have to.
The wheel is a 16" part, and it looks quite decent, no wheel covers here!
Though very expensive, if I had the choice I would buy local you can get them for about $160 used if you can find them cheap...I'd stay away from buying from the dealership!!

Ugh....pot holes! We have so many in Ohio that it's not funny. I'm sorry that it ruined your first wheel. I'm not surprised that the dealership was so expensive. I will always look anywhere else first and use them as a last resort. Luckily we have a body shop next door to our business who can get just about anything for any type of vehicle! Nice looking wheels :)
Small cars get really beat up on the bad bumps. Thanks for the good advice on where to get wheels when we do them in!
Good job on finding an excellent deal on the wheel that you needed to replace! Things sure are pricey these days.
I'm totally with you when you say to stay away from ordering parts from dealerships-you did some wise shopping & got a great deal!
Wow! $100 price difference! Good thing you shopped around.
Much better price, hoping that I don't need to shop there with all the pot holes on the Michigan roads this spring.
That is pretty expensive for a wheel. Dealerships are always much more expensive.
Bummer about the cost of the wheel. I am glad you found a cheaper place to purchase it from. Tell the wife to be on the lookout for those pot holes!
Glad that you were able to find what you need at a much cheaper rate. Thanks for sharing.
ha, avoid the dealership is pretty much a rule of thumb you can live by
