A little about my hair type.....itis fine/color-treated/wavey & frizzy.

I have had both of the Chi flat irons, the original (without the temperature control ) and now I have the Chi Turbo (with temperature control) .

I felt the original was drying out my hair really bad and giving it that 'burnt' smell, so, I bought this one. It doesn't give my hair the 'burnt' smell, but, I still feel like it is drying my hair out and if I use it more than twice a week - my hair becomes brittle & straw-like, even with a heat protectant being used!!

This one also snags my hair and tends to pull and snap it. The original didn't do that.

It does a really good job at straighting my hair & I will say it only takes me about five minutes to do so and it stays that way no matter how humid it gets outside.

This is not a bad product, but for my hair type,it just isn't right one. There are soooo many flat irons on the market and I do feel some will better than others, depending on your hair type. It just takes finding that one - lol!!

I'm now going to try the Sedu and will post my review on that after I have tried it for a while.

I have EXTREMELY curly hair and even if it's only a little humid out, my hair is.. well, a frizzy afro. My mom bought me a CHI temperature control and because I had to go so slow on my curly hair, that burnt hair smell you were talking about would fill my house and my hair would smell burnt all day. BUT.. I think I have a solution for you.. Under the price of a CHI, is the ION Flat Iron. It puts negative Ions in your hair and it's made only for curly/frizzy/dried out hair. My hair has never looked healthier and I straighten it every single day. And no burn hair smell. Good luck with flat irons! I know what a pain it can be!
